Right of Withdrawal for Consumers

Consumers as defined in § 13 BGB (German Civil Code) have the following right of withdrawal:

Right of Withdrawal

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason.

The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day on which you or a third party designated by you, who is not the carrier, took possession of the goods.
If multiple goods were ordered as part of a single order and delivered separately, the period begins on the day you or a third party (not the carrier) took possession of the last item.
A single order does not automatically exist if several goods were ordered at the same time – the individual products must be related.
If the goods are delivered in several partial shipments or pieces, the withdrawal period begins on the day on which you or a third party (not the carrier) took possession of the last partial shipment or piece.

– by means of a clear declaration (e.g. a letter sent by post, fax or email) of your decision to withdraw from this contract. You may use our model withdrawal form, though it is not mandatory.

To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient that you send the notification of exercising your right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period expires.

Consequences of Withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, we will refund all payments received from you, including delivery costs (except for any additional costs incurred because you chose a different delivery method than the standard, most economical option we offer), without delay and at the latest within fourteen days from the date we received notice of your withdrawal.

For this refund, we will use the same means of payment that you used in the original transaction, or bank transfer, unless expressly agreed otherwise with you; under no circumstances will you be charged fees for this refund.

We may withhold the refund until we have received the returned goods or you have provided proof that you have returned the goods, whichever is earlier.

You must return or hand over the goods to scienova GmbH, Spitzweidenweg 30, 07743 Jena, Germany, without delay and in any event no later than fourteen days from the day on which you inform us of your withdrawal. The deadline is met if you send the goods before the fourteen-day period has expired.

You are responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods.

You only have to pay for any loss in value of the goods if this loss is due to handling not necessary to check the quality, characteristics, and functioning of the goods.

Please note: If the customer is not acting as a consumer, no right of withdrawal applies.
The same applies to the supply of goods that are made to customer specifications or are clearly tailored to personal needs, or sealed goods which are not suitable for return due to health or hygiene reasons, or if the goods by their nature are not suitable for return – as well as in all other cases provided for by law.
